If you could choose your enemy…
K. Elizabeth · Follow 4 min read · -- Photo by GR Stocks on Unsplash If you could choose your enemy, would you rather have: A consistent, determined enemy who doesn’t quit. This enemy would be more of a persistent presence or nagging force in your life getting at you over time. An enemy that causes one big event where everything falls apart. This enemy would be more in the background or not present, except for the catastrophe type event.
Sun in the 8th House - A Light in the Dark
K. Elizabeth · Follow 22 min read · -- Photo by Prateek Gautam on Unsplash I’ve been fascinated with both psychology and astrology since childhood. It’s interesting to look back and reflect on the different ways these two worlds have collided in my head and ignited a process of deeper self understanding. Recently, the shadows within my birth chart have stuck out to me. Being someone who tends to think in symbolism, analogies, and metaphors, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the connections.
The Lie’s Keeper
K. Elizabeth · Follow 6 min read · -- Photo by Marek Studzinski on Unsplash I’ve always striven to be the golden armor of my father’s heart. I’ve been anything and everything he’s needed: a clever strategist in times of complexity, a strong arm during kingdom conflict, his jester through moments of apathy, and a confidant in his darkest hours. I refused to simply exist in the role of a prince, I was father’s lifeline.
Mercury in the 8th House - The Shadowed Mind
K. Elizabeth · Follow 14 min read · -- Photo by m wrona on Unsplash Natal Placement: Blending Applied Astrology & Depth Psychology During a recent Mercury retrograde phase, my focus also seemed to move backwards. Turning inward, I started a psychological deconstruction of my own shadows. With my natal Mercury being in the 8th house, it was a natural process. So natural in fact, I didn’t even notice the correlated timeframes until later.

Iron’s Connection with COVID-19
a layperson’s findings and thoughts K. Elizabeth · Follow 7 min read · -- Photo by Atahualpa Cáceres Primera on Unsplash Disclaimer: I am far from a medical professional or scientist. The research is still ongoing on some of these points. None of the notes I’ve written are intended to be medical advice, but more of an exploration of concepts I’ve personally found fascinating.
Lessons of the Trickster
When there is no way through, there is often a way around. The world is rarely as simplistic as good and evil, or black and white. The Trickster thrives in the infinite shades of gray, effortlessly shifting form and color. Tricksters boldly embody transformative change, chaos, and destruction. Surprisingly, through their deception, they also embody truth. Traditional tricksters represent concepts of duality, often both heroes and villains in their stories.
The Ties That Bind Us
Various spiritual traditions have taught versions of a concept of invisible threads connecting us to one another. The most well known concept that I’ve seen is the idea of the red thread that connects us with our soulmate, but I’ve found others with differing details. One version that I’ve revisited often says that we have an energetic string with every person we meet in our lifetime. Reflecting on this idea has lead me to a lot of exploration and insight into the nature of our relationships.
The Old Gods Are(n’t) Dead
The modern world tends to value logic, reason, technology, and the concrete. The things we label as real and true are those which we can perceive with our senses and measure with our tools. Throughout our history of religious movements and wars, scientific and technological advances, the old gods seem like a distant memory from our ancestors of a less advanced time.
The Old Gods in Modern Times
As twilight descends, the flicker of the glowing fire dances in the eyes of those gathered, illuminating ancient stories passed down through generations. These tales, brimming with gods and legends, seem to transcend the boundaries of time. One might wonder, how have these ancient deities, once worshipped with fervor, continued to exist within the fabric of our modern world? The answer lies in the collective unconscious, archetypes, traditions, and the very soul of humanity.

Performing the Elements in Indian Eco-Theatre: Deepan Sivaraman’s The Legends of Khasak
This article considers The Legends of Khasak, a Malayalam play by Deepan Sivaraman, as a landmark Indian eco-theatrical production. I argue for the play as an important development in a nascent Indian eco-theatre, telling an ecologically significant tale about the relationship between humans and nature through performative and scenographic innovations that transform the theatrical space into a sacred grove, a place of deep significance in terms of ecological balance.
