Persistence Diagram (PD) is known to capture point cloud topology effectively, but its computation has high time complexity. Expected Persistence Diagram (EPD) has been developed to reduce the time cost by studying the topology of multiple subsets of a point cloud and it serves as a distribution of topological features.

Supra- and infra-tentorial degeneration patterns in primary lateral sclerosis: a multimodal longitudinal neuroradiology study - Journal of Neurology
Abstract Primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) is traditionally solely associated with progressive upper motor neuron dysfunction manifesting in limb spasticity, gait impairment, bulbar symptoms and pseudobulbar affect. Recent studies have described frontotemporal dysfunction in some patients resulting in cognitive manifestations. Cerebellar pathology is much less well characterised despite sporadic reports of cerebellar disease.

Current Opinion in Pulmonary Medicine
Purpose of review Hydrothorax complicating continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) appears in approximately 2% of all patients. Recent advances in minimally invasive surgery have revolutionized the treatment strategy of this condition. Recent findings Hydrothorax in CAPD is most commonly secondary to a pleuro-peritoneal communication. Thoracocentesis with biochemical analysis of pleural fluid is the first-line investigation.
Latitudinal and seasonal variations of vertical wavenumber spectra of three dimensional winds revealed by radiosonde observations
Aiming at investigating the vertical wavenumber spectral features of three dimensional winds in the lower atmosphere as well as their latitudinal and seasonal variations, we analyzed 11-year (1998-2008) radiosonde data from 92 United States stations in the Northern Hemisphere.
Simultaneous upward and downward propagating inertia-gravity waves in the MLT observed at Andes Lidar Observatory
Based on the temperature, and zonal and meridional winds observed with a Na lidar at Andes Lidar Observatory (30.3°S, 70.7°W) on the night of 20-21 July 2015, we report simultaneous upward and downward propagating inertia-gravity waves (IGWs) in the mesosphere and lower stratosphere (MLT). The ground-based periods of the upward and downward IGWs are about 5.4?h and 4.8?h, respectively.
Diabetic Muscle Infarction: Myocardial infarct equivalent
Diabetic muscle infarction (DMI) is a serious complication seen in patients with long-standing diabetes. Evidence is accumulating since the first description of this entity in 1965 (1). Increasing awareness has led to prompt recognition of this previously underdiagnosed condition. Typically, acute presentation with atraumatic painful swelling, notably of the quadriceps or thigh muscles, is found in diabetic subjects with established vasculopathy including retinopathy and nephropathy.
