To Complain or Not to Complain
That's the question. But we can't give you the answer. It can be very relieving to be able to talk about your problems. To find anyone you can talk to about your worries and your fears. But there comes a point where complaining becomes less about stress relief and more about complaining just to complain. Though you can’t be told what to do all the time, you can know what situations and scenarios can make you reevaluate doing it in the first place. Why are you really complaining?
To My Grandmother
There are many facts and data about breast cancer. About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer. The mortality rate of breast cancer is high in African American women. But all these facts, figures, and charts don't really hit you unless you are someone close to your get the disease. For me, it was my grandmother.

When Panera closed suddenly, it felt like we lost a very close friend. But now that Au Bon Pain is closing down, I think we have gone numb. Yes, Au Bon Pain is leaving the Square like many of our other beloved restaurants and establishments. It was to be expected due to the renovation of the Smith Campus Center, but it just happened so fast.

We’re now in the home stretch of the year. We await the coming of spring, which will probably arrive by late May if we’re lucky. But also approaching very quickly (or slowly depending on who you are) are the deadlines for senior theses. Of course not all seniors will be trading in their social lives for some quality time with their laptop in the library this semester.

Let’s talk business—the new flavored water machines in the d-halls are the best things to have happened to HUDS since its website redesign (we at Flyby are very invested in all things HUDS if you couldn’t tell). Maybe you didn’t even notice the machine. Maybe you are a die-hard Powerade drinker (ew) and couldn’t care less. Maybe you’re thinking it’s “just” water. If so, you need to ditch your unenthusiastic outlook on life because this is exciting.
HUDS Suspends Purchases from Israeli Soda Company
Following student group complaints and internal discussions, Harvard University Dining Services has decided to suspend purchases of appliances from a company involved in an international settlement dispute. Until last April, HUDS had been purchasing water machines from a company recently acquired by SodaStream, an Israeli company that specializes in do-it-yourself soda and water machines.
