Review: 'House of El Book One: The Shadow Threat' by Claudia Gray
House of El is a worthy, thematically rich addition to the Superman mythos. The mainstream comic book audience is ageing. The biggest publishers of superhero fare, DC and Marvel, have long ago discovered this trend. In an effort to retain their readers, both publishers have shifted the bulk of their output to suit the tastes of more mature readers. Regrettably, this approach has made it difficult for children and young adults to find an “in” with the publishers.
Review: Chlorine Sky by Mahogany L. Browne
Chlorine Sky is a powerful coming-of-age story about a Black girl and all the hurdles that come forth along the way. Its unique format (novel-in-verse) offers a different perspective on the well-known issues many girls will relate to, such as toxic friendships, betrayal, sibling rivalry, and self-love.

26 Of The Most Beautiful Fantasy Book Covers Of 2019
Fantasy book covers have always been my favorite. Because anything can happen in a fantasy novel, anything can happen on their covers. (It’ll come as no surprise that I also collect fantasy art at home.) I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the fantasy book covers are this year in particular. Many of them are works of art.

Review by Magdalena J, Reviewer Last updated on 02 Jan 2019 I Recommend This Book Maybe I was a bit worried about reading this book after seeing friends of mine DNF the book on Goodreads. However, I'm glad to say that the book did work for me. Up to a point. Yes, I have some issues with the book, but that has nothing to do with the rape or any abuse Janneke had to deal with. I know that it's a trigger for some readers.
