The White County Commission met Monday evening, and, although it was not on the agenda, the subject was raised from the audience about proposed military training in downtown Sparta. See the Oct. 9 article “U.S. Marine Corps Forces to conduct military training operations within the City of Sparta.” As it turns out, U.S. Marine Corps Forces are not conducting the proposed training after all, but a private contracting company called VATC 3611 W Swann Ave., Tampa, Florida http://www.vatcinc.com.
