Karim Orange
Karim Orange’s Biography
I'm Karim Orange, aka That Girl Orange—still one bright hue.
In first grade, when my teacher asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I confidently replied, "A crayon." I wanted to live in the box with all the other colors. She smiled and told me that wasn't possible.
Thankfully, she was wrong.
Today, I color outside the lines as an award-nominated creative whose career has evolved across journalism, art, sustainability, and storytelling. As a travel, lifestyle, and wellness journalist, my work has appeared in Organic Spa Magazine, Resident Magazine, HuffPost, HelloGiggles, XO Nicole, Loved01 by John Legend, World Bride Magazine, YogaFit, and other national publications.
Before journalism, I spent years in television as a two-time Emmy-nominated makeup artist for The View. While that chapter shaped my eye for beauty, my passion has expanded far beyond cosmetics. Today, I'm equally inspired by luxury travel, wellness, public art, community gardening, and the stories that connect people to places.
I'm also the founder of Garden of Kicks, an award-winning urban art initiative that transforms discarded sneakers into living gardens, using creativity to inspire environmental awareness and strengthen communities.
Whether I'm hiking through the Galápagos Islands, exploring the streets of Prague, profiling emerging artists, or planting vegetables with children at a community garden, I believe every story has the power to help people see the world—and each other—a little differently.
After all, I've been coloring outside the lines since first grade.
