Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Khadijah James and Murphy Brown are my favorite fictional journalists. I see a lot of myself in both of them. If I have to pick, - Khadija.
Why did you become a journalist?
Kermit's roving news reports on Sesame Street mesmerized me. I spent hours in my room interviewing my stuffed animals.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked for the school paper and the yearbook staff. My senior year I was EIC for the school paper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I've been blessed to have some great assignments during my career. I still pinch myself thinking about a lot of the people & events.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I tell people that God never gives you a dream you can't achieve. So if being a journalist is your dream, don't let anyone stop you.
What's your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is pink Simply Lemonade mixed with ginger ale. I have had a few adventures searching for the lemonade while traveling.
