What was your first job as a journalist?
Writing a column about neighborhood associations and neighborhood news.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was involved in just about every other extracurricular activity besides the newspaper. Journalism was a later-in-life calling.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
When you can't think of how to start your story or article, imagine what you'd say to a friend about it on a short phone call.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I'm not picky.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the kitchen with my daughter.
