What was your first job as a journalist?
I was secretary to T George Harris, EIC of American Health magazine.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. I miss the clacking sound of the keys. I don't miss Wite-out.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be perpetually curious.
Who do you wish followed you?
Everyone with a name more recognizable than mine.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I am perpetually curious and I love the endless variety of reporting stories.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Always make your last question in an interview something along the lines of "What haven't we talked about that you think is important?"
What's your favorite drink?
Really? A Maple Leaf--whiskey, lemon juice, and maple syrup after a long, hard day of hiking.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Outside.
