Why did you become a journalist?
Originally because I loved writing and telling stories, but I've discovered so many more reasons, such as stoking curiosity and empathy.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked on the literary journal at my high school.

Vanity Fair, NYT, New Yorker
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I'm on vacation all the time! In actuality traveling and writing about it means much, much longer work hours!
