What was your first job as a journalist?

My first journalism job was an internship with TRU Teen Magazine as the Spotlight Editor Intern in 2014.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Lana Winters or Miranda Priestly.

What's your favorite social network?

Instagram!

Who do you wish followed you?

My favorite authors: Isabel Allende, Lisa Jewell, Grady Hendrix, and Silvia Moreno-Garcia, just to name a few.

Why did you become a journalist?

I discovered my talent and love of writing while pursuing my BA in English at Saint Xavier University.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, but I did work for our yearbook as a photographer! I didn't get into student journalism until college.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I recently shared a personal story about my health journey. It was so validating to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback and support.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Grow from constructive criticism, have confidence in your abilities, pursue subjects you're passionate about (while staying open-minded).

What's your favorite drink?

A crisp, ice-cold Pepsi

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Reading a novel.
