I'm a Denver-based reporter with The Associated Press, covering law enforcement legal issues and Colorado's marijuana industry and its ripple effects.
I came to Colorado in 2017 from AP's Georgia bureau, where I covered state government and breaking news out of Atlanta for three years.
I previously worked as an investigative reporter for Gannett Wisconsin Media, serving 10 local papers. I came to Wisconsin in 2010 to work as a local government reporter for the Wausau Daily Herald in Central Wisconsin, focusing on six communities surrounding Wausau.
I’m a Chicago native, growing up within walking distance of Midway Airport and a 30-minute Orange Line ride into downtown.
I’m always interested in learning new ways to be an effective reporter. Feel free to contact me at foody.kathleen@gmail.com or on twitter @katiefoody.
