What was your first job as a journalist?
Demand Studios - a huge content farm that published content on everything from health to home and tech. A great place to cut my teeth!
Have you ever used a typewriter?
YES! I love my old typewriter. I know, it's such a cliche, but wow, I love the feel, smell, and experience of it. Not everyday, of course.
How is social media changing news?
It's both good and bad. Social is unfortunately open to manipulation, but it also opens people up to new ideas and perspectives.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I really have no preference.
What's your favorite social network?
None of them?
Who do you wish followed you?
Hmmm. Sigourney Weaver. She, and her iconic roles, were a huge role model for me as a young woman who was never going to be a "normal".
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I love to write and share knowledge.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope. My high school didn't have a newspaper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Oh, my, there have been many pieces I've loved over the years. But my homesteading site is filled with my favorite content.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Out walking the dogs, training with them, bonding, and having a great time.
