Fasting-Mimicking Diet Remodels Neural Responses Associated with Colorectal Cancer Progression
Abstract Fasting-mimicking diet (FMD) exerts antitumor effects in multiple cancer types, but the role of neural regulation remains unclear. Here, we investigated the involvement of peripheral and central nervous systems in FMD-mediated suppression of colorectal cancer using a murine MC38 tumor model. Cyclic FMD treatment significantly inhibited tumor growth. Three-dimensional imaging revealed abundant neural fibers within colorectal tumor tissues.
Fasting-mimicking diet-enriched Bifidobacterium pseudolongum suppresses colorectal cancer by inducing memory CD8+ T cells
KN, ZZ, YY and YS are joint first authors. Contributors KN, ZZ, YY and YS performed the experiments, discussed and analysed the data and drafted the manuscript. HZ, ZW, KZ and BY performed bioinformatics analysis. YF, LW, XS, MQ and ZC assisted with the experiments and provided reagents or technical support. KN, ZZ and MG collected clinical samples. JZ and YC reviewed and edited the manuscript. RL and CM conceived and supervised the study, designed and interpreted the results and wrote the paper.

Recent Progress in Diboronic-Acid-Based Glucose Sensors
Non-enzymatic sensors with the capability of long-term stability and low cost are promising in glucose monitoring applications. Boronic acid (BA) derivatives offer a reversible and covalent binding mechanism for glucose recognition, which enables continuous glucose monitoring and responsive insulin release. To improve selectivity to glucose, a diboronic acid (DBA) structure design has been explored and has become a hot research topic for real-time glucose sensing in recent decades.
Prediction of prognosis and immunotherapy response in breast cancer based on neutrophil extracellular traps-related classification
1 Introduction Breast cancer is one of the highest incidence of malignant tumors around the world (Lei, et al., 2021; Qiu, et al., 2021; Sung, et al., 2021). It occupies approximately 30% of new cancer cases, making it a serious threat to women’s health (Hong, et al., 2018; McDonald, et al., 2016). Drug resistance, recurrence and metastasis are verified as the three main factors affecting the prognosis of breast cancer patients (Harbeck, et al., 2019).
Sports should not be politicized, at any cost
I couldn't help laughing when reading an article by Hannah Beech, the Southeast Asian bureau chief of The New York Times. In typically vilifying style, "The Chinese sports machine's single goal: The most golds, at any cost", said China has a State-run gold medal machine, which relentlessly crunches preteen girls as consumables and turns them into gold medal-winning androids in a small set of dumb sports Western countries do not compete.
