Keith Gardner CPA’s Biography

Keith Gardner, CPA, has dedicated his career to guiding clients through some of the most challenging tax issues they will ever face. From his earliest years in the financial services field to his present role as founder and managing partner of Keith Gardner, CPA, PLLC, he has focused on providing calm, thoughtful support to individuals and businesses. Keith’s professional path has been shaped by his time inside the IRS and decades of representing taxpayers who need clear guidance and a steady hand.

Founding the Firm: Keith Gardner, CPA, PLLC

After more than 13 years with the Internal Revenue Service’s Office, where he served as a revenue agent and later as an appeals officer, Keith decided to take a different course. In 1996, he left government service to establish his firm. His vision was to create a practice that would provide taxpayers with the experience and insights that only someone who had worked inside the IRS could offer.

Today, Keith leads a team of seven professionals out of their office at 8 Greenway Plaza in Houston, Texas. While the firm is based in Houston, its services reach across the country, meeting the needs of clients wherever they may reside. From individuals with unfiled returns and large tax balances to companies facing audits or liens, the firm has resolved hundreds of millions in tax liabilities.

Keith Gardner, CPA, PLLC, specializes in IRS representation, tax preparation, accounting services, and related matters. Each case is handled with care, accuracy, and a commitment to the practical details that can make the difference between frustration and resolution. Keith’s experience with the IRS remains a key asset in representing clients effectively.

IRS Insight That Makes a Difference

One of the qualities that distinguishes Keith is his ability to anticipate what the IRS will likely request or question. Because he spent years evaluating cases from the inside, he knows what documentation matters most, how files are reviewed, and what signals can trigger an examination. He does not depend on guesswork or assumptions. Instead, he relies on the understanding he built over more than a decade inside the system.

This perspective has proven invaluable to clients, many of whom feel overwhelmed and uncertain about their options. Whether it involves negotiating a settlement or preparing a response to an inquiry, Keith aims to help clients avoid unnecessary complications and protect their rights.

Meeting Clients Where They Are

Many of the individuals and businesses who reach out to the firm do so in a state of anxiety or confusion. Some have ignored notices for years, unsure of how to respond or even what they are being asked to correct. Others have received correspondence filled with technical language that leaves them feeling helpless. Several clients face balances they cannot afford to pay, and they struggle to know where to start.

Keith Gardner, CPA, PLLC, is built on the belief that no client should feel alone when facing a tax problem. Keith approaches every case by listening first. He gathers the facts, asks questions to clarify the situation, and then develops a plan tailored to the client’s circumstances.

Rather than offering grand promises, Keith stays grounded in what can be done realistically. Once he commits to a path forward, he follows through until the matter is resolved as fully as possible.

Belief in Practical Solutions

Keith has learned that no tax issue is truly beyond help. Some cases require time. Others demand substantial paperwork or lengthy negotiations. Still, he remains convinced that a solution can always be found.

This conviction has allowed many clients to avoid severe consequences, regain financial stability, and move past a difficult chapter in their lives. It is also what keeps Keith committed to his practice, having worked privately on behalf of taxpayers for more than 29 years.

He does not view himself as someone who delivers miracles. Instead, he sees his role as that of a guide who can help clients evaluate their options, make decisions that are right for them, and maintain momentum even when the process feels slow or intimidating.

Keith has seen that clients come from every walk of life. Their situations are unique, but they share the same need: honest advice and a transparent, logical process.

Hands-On Leadership

Although the firm has expanded since its founding, Keith remains personally engaged with every aspect of the work. He reviews the cases himself, speaks directly with clients, and confirms that each matter is managed with the standards he believes in.

This personal involvement is a key reason the firm has developed lasting relationships. Many clients continue working with Keith for years, and a significant portion of new business comes from referrals by satisfied clients who trust him enough to recommend his services to friends and relatives.

In addition to working directly on cases, Keith pays close attention to changes in tax law and IRS practices. He believes staying informed is essential to delivering reliable service. Keith has also supported efforts to increase visibility and accountability in the tax resolution industry, advocating for standards that protect clients.

Nationwide Service, Local Feel

The firm operates Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but Keith makes sure clients know help is never far away. The office serves clients across the United States. Modern technology enables the completion of all necessary work without requiring an in-person visit.

Even though the reach is national, the culture remains small and focused. Each member of the team understands the stakes involved in every file. They are not simply processing forms or answering letters. They are working to solve issues that can affect the lives, businesses, and peace of mind of the people they serve.

This sense of purpose is a foundation of the firm’s success. It shapes how each matter is approached and resolved.

What Keeps Him Going

When Keith Gardner is asked what continues to drive him after so many years, he doesn’t list statistics or financial accomplishments. He talks about the clients whose burdens have been lifted. Every notice that no longer needs a response, every settlement reached, every client who can move forward — these are the outcomes that matter most.

For Keith, it has never been about winning against the IRS. It has always been about achieving a fair resolution and giving people back a sense of control over their situation.

Keith Gardner, CPA, may have started his professional life inside the IRS, but today, he stands with those who need someone to guide them through a system that can feel overwhelming. Through his years of experience, his steady ethics, and his respect for each client, Keith remains a trusted and dependable figure in the field of tax resolution.
