If Prime Ali Fought Frazier.
Frazier probably stops him. A rematch follows and Ali's career is effectively over about the same time he made his return from exile in reality. Ali bested Frazier in their series because he returned just as Frazier's peak was coming to an end. Obviously Ali had a lot to do with end Frazier's prime. But Frazier style was never meant for longevity. Most importantly, and Yank Durham said, Ali had out-grown Frazier.

Who Ranks Higher Harry Greb or Sam Langford?
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Kell Macabe, . Two ATG that most consider top five, but who ranks higher and who are they comparable to? I rank Greb slightly higher due to his consistency. That said, Langford fought at absurd range of weights, which could be a factor for him as well. MaccaveliMacc, Tonto62 and louis54 like this. MaccaveliMacc, Reinhardt, George Crowcroft and 1 other person like this. Langford did things Greb could not.
Gene Tunney Vs Ezzard Charles
The Cincinnati Cobra is a billion times better than any fighter Gene Tunney has faced and is also a trillion times better than him. Tunney's best wins is a old and crude Jack Dempsey, and small man Harry Greb. Charles' best wins will make these two wins look below average. In terms of skill, Charles is a dimension above Tunney. So, Charles KO3.
Most skilled fighter: Jose Napoles, Salvador Sanchez, or Mike McCallum
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Flo_Raiden, . All 3 were known as highly technical boxer-punchers who were versatile, great blend of offense and defensive skills, threw nice combinations, excellent counter punchers, high ring IQ, strong chins, and having a smooth aesthetically pleasing boxing style. BEST I FACED: MARVELOUS MARVIN HAGLER
mark ant said: ↑ Should have put on his track shoes, Leonard`s chin weren`t great above 154. Click to expand... There were a couple of quantum evolutions in the sport of boxing that preceded Leonard-Hagler: 1) At some point in the 20th century, or maybe it was the 19th, they started constructing these things called rings — a raised square platform bordered by ropes, which keep the combatants, and the fight, inside a designated space.
Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Thomas Hearns
Am I wrong to think that Hearns came in weight drained even with same day weigh in, and just happened to be someone able to perform while dehydrated? I wonder what effect 24 hours of rehydration would have on him.
Oleksander Usyk vs Riddick Bowe
Who wins? Usyk might be too small but we have seen him deal with 240 pounders before. But in this case he will be up against bowe who is a skilled 240 pounder much more than AJ. the result of the fight in my opinion relies on if bowe is dedicated to training. If so than I think bowe will win I highly competitive UD. If not than Usyk wins by a large UD maybe even a late KO.
Gene Tunney Vs Evander Holyfield
Holyfield beat the speed demon Dokes, the blisteringly fast bruiser Tyson, as well as the nimble technician Tillis. Tunney isn't bringing much Holyfield hasn't seen whether you re talking about foot or hand speed. Tunney is not knocking out Holyfield even with brass knuckles. Holyfield is plenty skilled enough and experienced enough to match ring wits with Tunney.
What attributes does Loma have over Usyk?

Who will be the pound for pound king after Canelo?
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by UndergroundBoxing, Mar 29, 2022 at 2:56 PM. Shakur Stevenson believes he is already the most talented fighter in the sport, although he does admit that he hasn’t done enough to warrant that top spot yet. I believe Shakur is well on his way to those high pound for pound rankings though! Who else do you believe will be in the mix to take that throne after Canelo?
If Loma and Usyk retire…
What will be their legacy? Will thay both be in the HOF or only one if any? Are they ATG and where would they rank all time p4p? P4P is a made up airy fairy list that has no historical value or relevance People need to stop using this term.
Is Crawford in the same class as Mayweather, Leonard, Duran or more in the Class of Oscar, Mosley...
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BoxingIQ, Mar 10, 2022 at 6:35 PM. I've been watching Crawford for years now and I am always on the fence with him. There are days when I feel as though he is overrated but then there a days I feel he is greater than many fighters we have seen. Would you say Crawford, as a boxer, is in the same class as Manny, Floyd, Leonard, and Duran?

Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > Classic Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Kell Macabe, Mar 10, 2022 at 6:49 PM. Kell Macabe saying your 50-0 when you beat a MMA fighter. I think the people with the best arguments would be RJJ, Pac and PBF but personally I think that you could find 10 more fitting boxers through out time to replace them. Who else can make the list? Greb, Robinson, Langford, Duran, Armstrong.... Who you bumping and for whom?
Jack Catterall or George Kambosos
both or them are average (struck out because not fair) "just good" fighters (caterall and kambosos). Even if caterall won this fight (and I honestly think he did) I strongly doubt that he could win a rematch at all. Same for kambosos, he stands no chance vs teo defending his belts properly and not like a clown. Both of them are "just good". Nothing special in them. Being "just good" is OK, though, not everybody can be elite, by definition. DaRealJT and Kell Macabe like this.

Joe Louis in the modern cruiserweight division
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > Classic Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Qinglong, Feb 20, 2022 at 1:01 PM. Joe Louis is transported into the modern cruiserweight era with Usyk, Gassiev, Briedis, Makabu, Okolie and the other top dogs around. How well would the legendary Brown Bomber do? Would he dominate as he did in his own era, or simply pick up a few belts, if any, but ultimately fall short? Cleans out the entire division. Kell Macabe likes this.
We currently have three boxers who could become GOATs in boxing history. Canelo: 31 and a half years old, 17-1-1 in the world championship in four categories including one undisputed and winner of Trout, Lara, Cotto, Golovkin, Smith, Plant, Kovalev, Saunders... The only complaint we have can do is that there are 2-3 questionable decisions. Usyk: 35 years old, 8-0 in the world championships in two categories, one of which is undisputed where he is currently the best in history.
In what order do you rate the Fab four?
Duran, Hearns, Leonard, Hagler= all 4 all time greats that all fought each other and why do you rate them in the order you pick? This was before my time so I'll stay neutral, I haven't watched enough tape to tell you the truth. But in every tournament there is that logic that fighter a beat fighter b but fighter c beat fighter a but fighter b beat fighter c and so on and so forth...
What If AJ tries to ruff up and fight aggressively?
Does he beat Usyk? Maybe... but Usyk is in AJ's head so probably not. Joshua will have to get close. His stone feet wont do the trick. AJ isn't a good aggressive fighter No head movement Slow feet No stamina Usyk should easily be able to reposition and leave blowing in the wind Stick to the puddings of the world.
That'd be a nice achievement, but he's joining the army.
Crawford training Khan
wow Thats just a nice way of saying Khan is a sparring partner. Hope he doesn't quit in sparring too Bomac is training Khan. Khan is slower than old chubby Kovalev. I hope they aren't planning on Khan being the plodding aggressor and walking Brook down.

Is a 5lbs weight advantage a big gap?
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by mark ant, Jan 15, 2022 at 4:44 PM. If a fighter enters the ring 5lbs heavier than their opponent does it give them any kind of advantage? It's not a big gap, even at world level. Toney F*** U likes this. The question should be, does an extra 5 pounds of weight cut make a difference, and apart from HW, yes it makes a difference.
2022 Boxing Predictions
Josh Taylor KO's Terence Crawford. That's my boldest prediction. Said it in another thread, I'll repeat it here. Usyk-AJ rematch happens and I think Usyk knocks a reckless AJ out, maybe 6th, 7th or 8th rounds I think. No Fury-Usyk and no Crawford-Spence, resulting in riots on the streets and violent chaos everywhere. Demetrius Andrade is ducked yet again by Jermall Charlo, who moves up to 168 to fight my dead cat instead.
Why did Usyk struggle against Chisora?
I still don't understand this narrative. Usyk handily beat Chisora; at worst winning 116-112. He knew Chisora would exert a lot of energy early on so he gave away the first 2 rounds, similar to what you see Mayweather do. I scored it 117-111 Usyk, giving Chisora rounds 1, 2, and I believe it was 10? There was a later round where I thought he did enough to win it. Chisora is a guy who has a ton of losses, so people think he isn't that good.
