Music, Writing, And Novel Soundtracks
The most frequent question that people ask me when I tell them I’m a writer is, ‘Where do you get your inspiration from?’ It’s a valid query, given that writing a novel requires discipline and imagination. To be honest, inspiration can come from anywhere and at any time, and, being a writer, nothing is wasted.
10 Things I Want My Readers To Know About Me By Kelly Florentia
My favourite subject at school was English, and I was fortunate enough to have an excellent teacher. Mrs McCarthy said I had a very good imagination. I think her support and praise set me up for life. As a teenager, I loved expressing myself through poetry. I’m not the best poet in the world but I still write them sometimes. You can find two on my blog – My Friend, and The Sea. I’m a keen runner and take part in 5k and 10k charity runs.
A Coffee and a Chat with Audrey Fox from No Way Back
1. Favourite drink? Ah, we’ve started off with my favourite question. I usually drink dry white wine, especially when I’m out with my friends Tina and Louise. But I’d say champagne is my favourite. We all love a glass or three of Veuve Clicquot. 2. Last film you saw? I’m not much of a film lover but Nick, my ex, was a bit of a fanatic. His idea of fun was a Saturday night in with a takeaway, a few beers and something on Netflix. I think the last film I saw was with him. A thriller.
No Way Back - Book Playlist
Many people ask me where I get my inspiration from when I’m writing my novels. Inspiration comes in many forms, but personally I find listening to music while I’m out running a great source, especially on lovely warm, sunny days. But even when I’m pounding away on the treadmill at the gym (okay, huffing and puffing as close to the air-con vent as possible), I’m always listening to music and often thinking about my WIP - the protagonist, the cast, the chapter I’m working on.
Book Review: Girl in Red Velvet by Margaret James
When Lily Denham meets best pals Max Farley and Harry Gale at Oxford uni, romance blossoms. But who will win the love of the red queen? I absolutely loved this exciting tale about love, friendship, mistakes and choices.
On The Bus
On the bus the other day, a pregnant lady sat opposite me with her little girl - about four-years-old, blonde hair tumbling over her narrow shoulders, blues eyes, incredibly cute. Her legs dangled over the seat, feet almost touching my legs. “We used to go to that park,” she announced suddenly, pointing out of the window.
6 Of My Favourite Things by Jennifer Bohnet
I'm delighted to welcome back onto my blog today the lovely Jennifer Bohnet. Thank you Kelly for inviting me onto your blog to answer six questions about my favourite things. Currently I write in my office cum spare room which my husband converted for me from a store room at the back of our cottage. Before I wrote upstairs in the attic with very little space around me - now I’ve got shelves, a proper desk (usually with a cat or two sprawled across it) and space.
