What was your first job as a journalist?
This is my first job as a journalist. After 20+ years in tech, reading others posts, articles and tech journals, I'm finally ready to share.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, I learned to type on a typewriter (back when they taught typing in school). The hum and clackity clack sounds still takes me back.
How is social media changing news?
Social Media is making all content faster and more intense. It has more pros and cons then this answer will let me convey.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Someone who takes the time to listen to all angles and achieve a unique perspective that others may not have thought of previously.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email is best, text is usually too short. Start with a quick summary/overview, then dive in. Include resources to drive home facts.
Who do you wish followed you?
People who are open for new experiences and looking for out of the box thinkers like themselves.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I'm a morning person and find I'm the most creative after a cup of tea. Just a quick conversation that can really start things moving.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I haven't heard a bad pitch. Just pitches that maybe need a little help in direction. Go forward with conviction.
What's your favorite drink?
Iced Tea, plain, black, no sugar
