US Correspondent for The Metal Circus out of Barcelona, Spain.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Not in more than 20 years but I used one. I miss those simpler times once in a while.
How is social media changing news?
People blindly follow it and sometimes the wrong information is being disseminated. I think people need to pay more mind to their networks.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Peter Parker or Clark Kent.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
As my medium focuses on the entertainment and art industry for the most part, my hope is to have the content I deliver inspire and entertain
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
Nothing come to mind.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via email which I pointed out already.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft Office 365, WordPress and assorted social media platforms. Digital camera and mobile devices.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram and then TikTok. I don't view YouTube as a social network but I love that one over those two :)
Who do you wish followed you?
I'll answer like any hopeful Influencer and say "everybody". I wish that everybody followed me :)
Why did you become a journalist?
I found the field interesting and challenging and I thought I could make some entertaining difference.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I don't remember working for the high school newspaper and if I did it might not have been an important role.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I take pride in anything that I am working on to be honest.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't take on more than you can handle. Pace yourself and deliver on what you have promised to deliver. Keep a good attitude.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Morning, mid-day, even evening works for me since I prefer everything be emailed. Easier tracking.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Being informed that I was able to cover the final live performance by KISS. It was historic.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Nothing comes to mind.
What's your favorite drink?
7-Up or Chocolate Milk, or Diet Iced Tea. I can't pick a favorite at the moment.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On the mobile. Or asleep.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Wall Street Journal.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I haven't experienced one yet which I guess is a good thing.
