Why did you become a journalist?
Because I wanted to better inform people about the world they live in and help people who might be hurt by more powerful interests.

I ran it.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I did a story several years ago about how older LGBT individuals were not saved for retirement. Totally undercovered topic.

A long-time PR professional, Annette Bronkesh, would pitch me twice a year and would always land a hit. She knew my beat better than I.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Blockchain / bitcoin pitches are really the worst.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
With friends at a restaurant or bar.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I care about executive shakeups at banks. I don't.
