Ken Termini’s Biography

Ken Termini, after a stellar career in the pharmaceutical industry and remarkable achievements as a high school basketball coach, now dedicates his expertise to guiding college student leaders on how to leverage their leadership experiences during entry-level job interviews effectively.

Graduating from Penn State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, he began his professional journey with Revlon. After two years, he transitioned to Forest Pharmaceuticals, marking the start of a fulfilling 27-year career in the pharmaceutical sector. His tenure at Forest Pharmaceuticals was highlighted by a series of promotions through various sales and sales management positions, where he adeptly navigated the complex healthcare landscape.

His excellency did not go unnoticed, as he garnered all three of the company's significant sales awards: Rookie of the Year, Representative of the Year, and Sales Manager of the Year. In 2002, he was promoted within the corporate office to lead the State Government Affairs Department. Three years later, he spearheaded the creation and management of Forest Laboratories’ Federal Public Policy & Government Affairs department amid the pivotal era of the Affordable Care Act’s implementation. He concluded his career in a strategic role as an Anti-Infective Hospital Specialist at Forest Laboratories (now Allergan), focusing on infectious disease and hospital-based IV antibiotics.

His financial acumen and strategic planning enabled him to retire at the age of 50, achieving a lifelong goal set in his youth. He adhered to a life plan advised by a mentor during his teenage years: divide life into thirds—learning, earning and providing, and enjoying the fruits of one's labor. His retirement was supported by wise financial, estate, and tax planning, executed with a team that deeply understood his risk tolerance.

Additionally, his savvy investments in real estate significantly bolstered his financial independence. He was instrumental in developing vacation rental properties and a substantial oceanfront condominium project in the Outer Banks, evidencing more than two decades of real estate investment experience. Although he has divested most of his real estate holdings, he remains an active participant in the Outer Banks non-resident property owner (NRPO) community.

Beyond his professional life, Ken has a profound passion for basketball. Starting in 1990, he coached high school basketball for nearly all of his 34 years in the sport, leading teams at Palisades High School and subsequently at Palmerton High School in the Colonial League. His tenure at Palmerton was marked by numerous successes, including a District 11 Class 3A title in 2019, and his innovative coaching techniques perennially made his teams strong contenders. He also founded the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coaches Association to promote recognition of the league’s standout players.

His athletic interests extend into open-water swimming, a sport he pursues with vigor. He competes in numerous events along the New Jersey Shore. He has participated in challenging swims in several states, including a notable 3.5-mile swim in New York City that supported the Navy SEAL Foundation. This sport represents not just a physical challenge but also a way to embrace active living into his 60s and beyond.

Currently, he is revitalizing his venture, Career Launch Consulting (CLC), to address a gap he identified while hiring entry-level employees: many college students need more effective interviewing skills despite their substantial leadership experience. Through CLC, he offers both group and individual interview training sessions, enriching the professional development of young leaders. He collaborates with various organizations, including the international fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha, to integrate these valuable skills into their annual leadership meetings.

Ken Termini's life and career are testaments to his multifaceted skills, strategic planning, and commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals.
