The zona pellucida protein piopio regulates the metamorphosis and reproduction in Tribolium castaneum
CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENT The authors declare no conflict of interest. Supporting Information Additional file Filename Description arch22122-sup-0001-Fig_S1.tiff1.1 MB Fig. S1 Injection of pio dsRNAs into 7-day larvae inhibited growth and ecdysis of T. castaneum. (A) The mRNA level of pio in ds-pio and ds-ver insects 5 days post injection. Gene level was measured with three individuals and repeated for more than three biological replications. (B) Phenotypes of ds-pio and ds-ver insects.

Arpc2 integrates ecdysone and juvenile hormone metabolism to influence metamorphosis and reproduction in Tribolium castaneum
Background Actin-related protein 2/3 complex regulates actin polymerization and the formation of branched actin networks. However, the function and evolutionary relationship of this complex subunit 2 (Arpc2) has been poorly understood in insects. Results To address these issues, we performed comprehensive analysis of Arpc2 in Tribolium castaneum.
Anatomical variation of femoral vessels and ultrasound‐guided femoral vein puncture for catheter ablation of arrhythmias
This study aims to investigate the anatomical variations in femoral vasculature and evaluate the clinical value of ultrasound-guided femoral vein puncture in catheter ablation procedures. In this retrospective analysis conducted from January 2023 to March 2023, we examined data from patients who underwent catheter ablation with ultrasound-guided femoral venipuncture. We evaluated the anatomy of the femoral vasculature at both high and low inguinal levels.
Dose-response association of implantable device-measured physical activity with long-term cardiac death and all-cause mortality in patients at high risk of sudden cardiac death: a cohort study
Abstract Background Cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) with physical activity (PA) recording function can continuously and automatically collect patients’ long-term PA data. The dose-response association of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRTD)-measured PA with cardiovascular outcomes in patients at high risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) was investigated.

Preparation of poly(ethylene oxide) brushes grafted multiwalled carbon nanotubes and their effect on morphology and mechanical properties of rigid polyurethane foam - Chen - - Polymer International - Wiley Online Library
Poly (ethylene oxide) grafted multiwalled carbon nanotube (PEO‐graft‐MWCNT) was successfully prepared by a ring‐opening polymerization of ethylene oxide. Thermogravimetric analysis results indicated that the amount of the grafted PEO polymer was about 40.0 wt %. Rigid polyurethane foams (PUF) filled with MWCNT and PEO‐graft‐MWCNT were also fabricated to investigate the influence of grafted PEO interfacial layer on the foaming process, morphology and mechanical properties of PUF.
Association between patient activity and long-term cardiac death in patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators - Jan 24, 2017
Patient activity (PA) has been demonstrated to predict all-cause mortality. However, the association between PA and cardiac death is unclear. The aims of this study were to determine whether PA can predict cardiac death and what is the cut-off of PA to discriminate cardiac death, as well as the mechanism underlying the relationship between PA and survival in patients with home monitoring.
Multiple leadless pacemakers implanted in the right ventricle of swine
Aims The miniaturized leadless pacemaker has recently emerged as a bradycardia therapy in humans, and many patients may need at least two pacemakers in their lifetime. Thus, the present study assessed the effect of two leadless pacemakers in the right ventricle (RV) on cardiac function in a swine model.
Influence of Location, Population, and Climate on Building Damage and Fatalities due to Australian Bushfire: 1925-2009
This study reevaluates the history of building damage and loss of life due to bushfire (wildfire) in Australia since 1925 in light of the 2009 Black Saturday fires in Victoria in which 173 people lost their lives and 2298 homes were destroyed along with many other structures. Historical records are normalized to estimate building damage and fatalities had events occurred under the societal conditions of 2008/09.
Influence of Location, Population, and Climate on Building Damage and Fatalities due to Australian Bushfire: 1925-2009
1. Introduction Widely heralded in the media as Australia’s worst natural disaster (e.g., Rule 2009), the 7 February 2009 Black Saturday bushfires (wildfires) in Victoria were but the most recent reminder of the potential for natural hazards to impact Australian communities ().
