What was your first job as a journalist?
Writing for business management magazines and was later published in academic work.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, I am that old.
Why did you become a journalist?
I covered management topics for years, but switched to politics when other journalists lamented about topics they were not permitted to cover
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The EtO story as I could only use public sources and traced it all from state reps to governor in the largest coverup in state history.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
CYA at all times. Buy life insurance.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
A guy pitched a story about alleged racism on the Klobachar campaign who later threatened me for looking into the EtO coverup in Illinois.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On my deck enjoying the outdoors with my dogs.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Intercept, one of the few investigative news organizations left.
