I work with Tehelka Magazine as their Karnataka-based Special Correspondent I have written cover stories, broken stories and written special reports including those exposing abuse of discretionary powers by ministers, land allocation and other scams and have also tracked the scams, corruption and blatant manipulation on the part of the ministers and government functionaries in Karnataka. I have been with Tehelka since 2011.
Before that i worked with The New Indian Express in Bangalore as an environmental reporter in 2009. For the two years I worked there I have covered and reported on the environment, forests, crime, infrastructure, science and agriculture. I consistently investigated and exposed one of the biggest scams in Karnataka – the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project, in which the company Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Project grabbed agricultural lands belonging to farmers. I also brought out how the co-operative bank Amanath was defrauded to the tune of Rs 300 crore by the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Rehman Khan and others.
I worked with Greenpeace before i became a journalists and was campaign co-ordinator for India, launching awareness campaigns on toxics, genetically engineered food, climate change and e-waste.
My interest include politics, human rights, development and civil rights and of course environment. I hope to be able to contribute my journalistic skills if given a chance to work for your organisation.
