Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

most definitely - I'm old school and learned how to type on a manual typewriter with (gasp) carbon paper and all!

How is social media changing news?

More and more of our readers go to social media to find out what is happening in the world. We can really make a huge difference thru this.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Shoot me an email, tell me about your product and why you feel my readers would be interested in it

Who do you wish followed you?

Companies and brands that my kids and I love

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I did and had a few stories published as well

What's the best pitch you ever got?

When an individual took the time to READ an article and SEE what Life in a House is all about BEFORE pitching me.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

An email with a link to a website that said "would you check out our products and write a post about us." That was it. Literally.

What's your favorite drink?

Long Island Iced Tea or a glass of sangria

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

running the boys around town to appointments or running errands. Ideally I would be at the beach listening to the waves and the seagulls

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I love reading women's magazines such as Home & Garden, Oprah, Good Housekeeping, People, and I also enjoy reading Medium and Flipbook

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That I'm a mommy blog for little kids. I haven't had a kid in diapers in over 13 years.
