What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means being able to understand YOUR story so well that you have the exceptional ability to invite others in!
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
By e-mail.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Right now, just my Lenovo laptop and my Iphone! I have become a master at Microsoft Office!
What's your favorite social network?
I really enjoy Pintrest! Even though I am not interacting with people one on one, I believe great stories can be told through pictures!

Anyone who wants to be free!
Why did you become a journalist?
I want to share my story and allow people to also be free to share theirs!
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
My high school was way too small to have a newspaper! lol
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I collaborated with my little sister, Knetta; on an article for Sheen Magazine about the value of being a Doula! She is a black doula!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Take it one day at a time and be honest with yourself!
When's the best time to pitch you?
between 7 am-10 am CST most weekdays! I am also available all day Saturdays.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Writng about my favorite candy!! I had a blast writing about that one.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Writing about my favorite fashion brand! that would take days and I wouldn't make the submission deadline...hahaha
What's your favorite drink?
I really enjoy an iced spiced chai latte. with whip! AND lots of cinnamon.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Playing basketball at the YMCA or hanging out in the beauty isle at ULTA! I just started going to restorative yoga! 10 out of 10!!!
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I really enjoy books on money management! I really enjoy anything by Dave Ramsey or Anthony O'Neal.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That my plot twist comes way too early in my plot twist! lol IDK. smiling
