How Docker maps a containerized port to your local machine?
When you spin up a database inside a Docker container, you are essentially launching an entirely isolated, lightweight operating system that lives inside your physical machine. This isolated environment has its own file system, its own memory limits, and crucially, its own private network. By default, a Docker container is completely sealed off from your local machine (which we refer to as the "host").
Computer Science > Artificial Intelligence
Agentic "Continual Learning Harnesses", systems that pair an LLM with retrieval or memory to improve from feedback without retraining, have shown growing value in cybersecurity. But their value is conventionally measured by gains against labeled benchmarks, an approach that often fails in operational security settings.
The Rise of AI-Native HR: Redesigning Employee Experiences for the Intelligent Enterprise
Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time talking to CHROs about AI. Interestingly, very few of those conversations begin with employees. They usually begin with technology. Which chatbot should we deploy? Should we buy a copilot or build our own? Which HR processes can we automate first? These are good questions, but I increasingly think they’re the wrong place to start.
Java Multithreading Explained (Thread States, Synchronization & Deadlocks) - Through One Example
Java multithreading used to confuse me a lot. I’d read about thread states, synchronized, deadlocks… but it all felt like separate pieces and I couldn’t see the full picture. So I sat down and wrote an article that explains everything using one single example, step by step. No jumping between 10 different snippets — just one flow that shows what’s happening and why.
Getting started with GoLand - how do you use it for Go?
I’m just getting started with GoLand for my Go projects and wanted to learn from people who use it regularly. How does GoLand fit into your day-to-day workflow? Are there any features, shortcuts, or settings you’d recommend enabling early on? If you don’t use GoLand, what IDE do you prefer for Go development — and what made you choose it?
Meet Our Leadership Team: A Candid Conversation with Kshitij Jain, Founder and CEO at Joveo
After two decades in recruitment, one truth stands out: fixing this industry isn’t just about better technology; it’s about people. Real individuals, each with unique lives, ambitions, and untapped potential. Technology, when used thoughtfully, amplifies the ability to connect with and empower these individuals. For too long, the industry has talked endlessly about “candidate experience” while making the process increasingly frustrating for job seekers.
Day 3 of My Golang Journey
#programming #go #backend #buildinpublic I’m continuing my daily log. Covered [Concept • Syntax • Implementation • Examples • Usecases] Errors & Custom Errors String Functions & Formatting Text Templates Regular Expressions (Regex) Time & Epoch Time Parsing/Formatting Random Numbers Number Parsing I’ll keep documenting daily - both to reinforce my own learning and hopefully help others starting out with Go. We're a place where coders share, stay up-to-date and grow their careers.
Day 2 of My Golang Journey
#go #learninpublic #programming #buildinpublic I’m documenting my Golang learning day by day. Today I went deeper into the language and covered: Closures Recursion Pointers Strings & Runes Formatting Verbs & the fmt package Structs & Methods Interfaces Struct Embedding Generics I’m sharing this to stay accountable and connect with others who are also exploring Go. For those with more experience: what are some common mistakes or best practices around these topics that I should know early on?
What Tutorials Don't Tell You About the Basics
Why Do I Get "main redeclared" Errors in Go? If you've just started learning Go and see an error like: main redeclared in this block //or go run: cannot run non-main package This is one of the most common errors beginners face when writing Go programs. Let's break down why it happens and how you can fix it. Go has a simple rule: only one main() function is allowed per package. By default, all .go files inside the same folder belong to the same package (unless you explicitly specify otherwise).
Day 0: Starting My Golang Journey
Hey devs 👋, I’ve decided to jump into Go (Golang), and I’m documenting my journey over the next 3 weeks. Here’s my roadmap: 1️⃣ Go Basics 2️⃣ Go Intermediate 3️⃣ Go Advanced 4️⃣ 3 Minor Go Projects 5️⃣ 1 Major Go Project Why Go? Fast, efficient, and simple syntax Great for backend, microservices, and concurrency Used by companies like Google, Uber, and Docker I’ll be posting updates (successes, struggles, and lessons learned) along the way.
Calling All Future Athletes- Welcome Your New Coach.
Kshitij Jain · Follow 8 min read · -- Every shot, every thought, every calculation, every move counts. Each breath counts. Each second counts. From the very moment you step out to play your sport, you don’t rise to the level of the challenge, you fall to the level of your training. It’s that period of time where athletes overcome mental, physical, emotional limits to prove themselves, to be the best at what they do.
UK financial services leaders are bullish on AI but firms are struggling to meaningfully implement solutions
New research from EXL [NASDAQ: EXLS], a leading data analytics and digital operations and solutions company, reveals that the vast majority (89%) of insurance and banking firms in the UK have launched AI point solutions and proofs of concept over the past year, but suggests that data optimisation must be a greater priority to achieve meaningful impact.
Council Post: Transparency: The Very Visible Force Disrupting Job Advertising Tech
Founder and CEO of Joveo, the global leader in programmatic job advertising. On a mission to deliver the right job to everyone! It’s been more than 10 years since the concept of disruption rocked the tech industry. Companies as diverse as Uber, Airbnb, Netflix and Warby Parker capitalized on two phenomena—lack of transparencyand inefficiency—to fundamentally transform what it means to take a taxi ride, travel, watch a movie or buy eyeglasses.
The foundations for Gen AI success in financial services
By Kshitij Jain, Head of Analytics for the UK and Europe at EXL Since the release of Chat GPT earlier this year, generative AI has moved up the boardroom agenda and adoption has accelerated across industries. Uptake is predictably higher in unregulated industries, where use cases are already abundant, but in financial services, the regulation landscape calls for a more considered approach. An AI boom in financial services?
Banks need better model risk management – Here’s how to build a robust framework
By Kshitij Jain, Senior Vice President, Data and Analytics at EXL Earlier this year, the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) shook investors worldwide. But amongst the chaos, one driving factor wasn’t discussed enough – inadequate modelling and poor model governance. The collapse of SVB was far from the first market-rocking event that might’ve been softened with better model risk management practices.
Council Post: Want Better Employee Retention? Treat Candidates Like Customers
Founder and CEO of Joveo, the global leader in programmatic job advertising. On a mission to deliver the right job to everyone! While fears of a potential recession hang over hiring by businesses continues, with 261,000 jobs added in October 2022. It’s easy for HR and recruitment professionals to remain laser-focused on filling open reqs, but ultimately the hiring merry-go-round that is the Great Reshuffle won’t stop until we address a bigger issue: why employees resign.
IT firms hiring as marketers
For India’s IT industry, hiring has made a roaring comeback in 2021. Following a tumultuous period of uncertainty and layoffs last year, the gradual stabilisation of the global economy over the last few months has unleashed the pent-up demand for larger workforces to support growing business demands. Nasscom recently reported that the top five Indian IT companies alone are planning to add over 96,000 new employees in FY22.
Council Post: The New World Order Of Job Advertising: How Data Can Be A Catalyst For Transformation
Founder and CEO of Joveo, the global leader in programmatic job advertising. On a mission to deliver the right job to everyone! getty There is no precedent since the Great Depression of the 1930s for the level of disruption the Covid-19 pandemic caused in the U.S. labor market last year. The alarming volume of layoffs and downsizings triggered record unemployment rates across just about every industry.
Is Asia ready for programmatic job advertising?
Recruitment teams around the world are always figuring out ways to meet aggressive hiring goals with short timelines as well as uncertain budgets. Never before has this been more true than in the last 18 months – one of the most turbulent periods in the history of the global labour market. Employers around the world were forced to lay off or furlough workers in large numbers in reaction to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic – most of them downsized their recruitment efforts.

'ExpensiveWall' Malware Affected 21 Million Android Devices | Androidheadlines.com
A new malware, called “ExpensiveWall”, has affected around 21.1 million Android devices, as identified by Check Point’s mobile threat research team. This malware is said to have bypassed Google Play’s anti-malware protections, including Play Protect, as it came “packed” inside certain applications (primarily wallpaper apps). This means that its developers encrypted it inside a malicious code, thus making it difficult to be detected by the protection checks.
