Dual-band single negative metamaterial-based MIMO antenna with enhanced performance
Abstract This work presents a single-layer metasurface characterization and analysis for converting a linearly polarised narrowband antenna to a wideband circularly polarised antenna and its multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) implementation. The single-layer metasurface is supported by grounded dielectric substrate, which is considered wave-guided metamaterial to retrieve the effective refractive index along the propagation direction.
The Global AI Regulation Landscape: Balancing Innovation, Ethics and Governance
As AI integrates into critical sectors, the focus has shifted from debating the rarionale of AI regulation to how to do it effectively. Global approaches vary: the EU favors comprehensive statutes, the US has a collage of agencies and voluntary standards, while China prefers a State-led model. These choices reflect differing views on markets, rights, risk management and State’s role. Undoubtedly, the core argument for AI regulation is building trust.
MINDS & MACHINES: WHO OWNS AI’s CREATIVITY?
When a song called Heart on My Sleeve—featuring AI-cloned vocals of Drake and The Weeknd—exploded on TikTok in 2023, Universal Music Group pursued legal recourse. The various streaming platforms that had uploaded the performance started to scramble to delete it. But the said track wasn’t made by hackers in a basement. It was created using various publicly available AI tools and trained on the artists’ own music. This is the new front in the copyright wars.
