Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes—in fact, I actually own two (huge nostalgia nerd over here). I love using my typewriter to write cards, notes, and even poetry.

How is social media changing news?

News is now more accessible—which can be a good and bad thing. While it's a lucrative tool in media, I also try to avoid it when I can.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Via email.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't focus so much on the journeys of others that you lose sight of your own. What's meant for you will never miss you!

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

It would probably be easier to tell you what I don't read—I'm basically subscribed to everything. Though I particularly love The NYT!
