Abstract The rotation period of Uranus was estimated to be 17.24 ± 0.01 h in 1986 from radio auroral measurements during the brief Voyager 2 flyby. This value is the basis for the Uranian SIII longitude system still in use. However, the poor period uncertainty limited its validity to a few years, after which the orientation of the magnetic axis was lost. Alternate, conflicting, rotation periods have also been proposed since then.
Abstract Enceladus is a prime target in the search for life in our Solar System, having an active plume that is likely to be connected to a large liquid water sub-surface ocean. Using the sensitive near-infrared spectograph instrument on board the James Webb Space Telescope, we searched for organic compounds and characterized the plume’s composition and structure.
Although previously characterized as a subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL) is a now recognized as a distinct subtype of NHL with unique clinical and biologic features, many of which overlap with classic Hodgkin lymphoma. PMBCL has a peak incidence in the adolescent and young adult (AYA) population and, unlike other subtypes of NHL, a higher incidence among females.
Abstract Previous investigations proved the existence of local density enhancements in Europa’s atmosphere, advancing the idea of a possible origination from water plumes. These measurement strategies, however, were sensitive either to total absorption or atomic emissions, which limited the ability to assess the water content. Here we present direct searches for water vapour on Europa spanning dates from February 2016 to May 2017 with the Keck Observatory.
