#1 I was reading the "Anyone been to Brighton" thread and got to thinking about the time when I was a southerner living in a small village just outside Haywards Heath. We used to go down to Brighton to eat in a marvellous restaurant where they had no menu but served up a 7 or 8 course banquet and you all sat close together on one long trestle table.
Question - Is the samsung 50 inch qn90c 4k neo qled hdr smart tv a big step up?
#1 Hi folks, I currently have an LG 55 inch 55um7400plb, our front room is very bright being that it is south facing. The picture quality can be superb, particularly on streaming services as the HDR is sublime, however it's not quite there when it comes to watching Live sport on Sky Sports UHD and Virgin Ultimate. I have been through all the picture settings but it is either too dark or way too in your face with the vivid colours.

LG S75Q discussion
bydandie Established Member #1 First thoughts are it's very impressive, but you need to connect to it to set it up and update it using the LG Soundbar app. With this one. you have to set the soundbar into bluetooth mode then connect. Once you do that, then updating is painless and you get the following once updating. So after getting my new LG S75Q soundbar yesterday and setting it up I thought I'd set a thread up as I couldn't find one.
Would buying a refurbished Panasonic 65 LZ2000 from Panasonic via Ebay represent too much of a risk?
#1 It comes with a year's warrantee , thirty day returns policy and is about 45% cheaper than the MZ2000 equivalent. That puts it a similar price point to the Samsung S90c so maybe not such a great deal except it is the meant to have excellent audio and out of the box video calibration. Apparently the set is ideal for regular film watching which suits me as i don't game. Apart from that, my main concern with any new TV is long term reliability.
Grenfell Tower Culpability Thread.
#1 As I mentioned in another thread, out of respect for the dead and missing, this probably isn't a subject we should politicise, for now. Surely it's a time for leadership by our government? I found it shocking that people were left to their own devices after the fire. Yes the council rehoused 44 families, but that's where it ended. Residents complained of no council or local government assistance.
Who gives blood?
#1 Just curious to see how many donors we have on AVF I donate, though I haven't been in a while NHSBT Blood Donation Last edited by a moderator: Jan 20, 2017 #2 Its a great idea but don't think mine will be accepted just yet! #3 I have done once before a couple of years ago and would do it again. If I see a blood drive happening and it gets me out of work for half an hour I'll be there. #4 I'd like to, but have no idea how to go about doing it.
