Mergers are a crucial channel of galaxy growth, but their role relative to star formation remains uncertain at high redshift. Here we investigate merger rates and merger-driven stellar mass assembly for galaxies with stellar mass $M_\star \gtrsim 10^8 \, {\rm M_{\odot}}$ at $z\simeq 5-11$, by combining complementary theoretical approaches within $Λ$CDM.

Abstract Active galactic nuclei (AGN) are an important phase in galaxy evolution. However, they can be difficult to identify due to their varied observational signatures. Furthermore, to understand the impact of an AGN on its host galaxy, it is important to quantify the strength of the AGN with respect to the host galaxy. We developed a deep learning (DL) model to identify AGN in imaging data by deriving the contribution of the central point source.

Abstract Galaxy major mergers are indicated as one of the principal pathways to trigger active galactic nuclei (AGN). We present the first statistical analysis of the major merger and AGN connection in the Euclid Deep Fields, and showcase the statistical power of the Euclid data. We constructed a stellar-mass-complete (M★ > 109.8 M⊙) sample of galaxies from the quick data release (Euclid Quick Release Q1 2025) in the redshift range z = 0.5–2.

‘Ovariostasis’ as the main preventive and therapeutic strategy for gynecological pathologies in women of reproductive age
Ovariostasis is a reversible and temporary suspension of the cyclic ovarian activity, characterized by anovulation and hypogonadotropinemia (low serum concentrations of FSH and LH), which can be observed in case of pregnancy or hypothalamic amenorrhea or medically obtained through the administration of combined hormonal contraceptives, progestin-only pills, or GnRH analogues. Ovariostasis effectively prevents undesired pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and hemorrhagic corpus luteum.
