Lark Gould’s Biography

Lark Gould is a career journalist who started out in wire services and metro dailies and eventually segued to covering the travel industry. She spent much of her early career overseas covering wars, famines and cultural conundrums in the Horn of Africa and the Middle East for such publications as the Christian Science Monitor, Reuters, AP, Aramco Magazine and the Boston Globe concentrating her time in Somalia, Ethiopia and North Yemen.

Among her deep dives were such topics as Poetry in Somalia, Women’s Rights in Yemen, the Diaspora of Jews from Ethiopia, Tunisia and India, Manufacturing Hope in Eritrea, Weavers of Somalia and Kashgar, Saving the Last Art Museum in Kuwait, In Search World’s Priciest Aromas in Oman, Midnight for the Mossad in Sudan and many others.

More recently she has had editorships with travel trade publications while freelancing for a battery of news outlets and magazines. She continues to cover destinations, airline movements and travel trends from the window seat as an editor for Business Traveler USA.
