I have, but only to get the “old” feel.
How is social media changing news?
I believe social media is making it easier for news to get around. Not everyone watches television, but they’re always reading posts.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Khadijah James! No one had a better publication than FLAVA Magazine!
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
It has to be , I think that was the name. Many journalists were talking about how they received pitches about Christmas in June.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft word, PowerPoint, the Adobe Cloud, Final Cut Pro and more.
What's your favorite social network?
My favorite social network is Twitter. It’s like the best application to go on when you want laughs, news information—anything!
Who do you wish followed you?
I wish Rihanna followed me because I look up to her and I admire her thrive to succeed in many different industries.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I love writing and storytelling. Writing has always been my preferred way to express myself.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was a member of the TV Broadcast Crew!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My first cover story with Grammy Award winner Muni Long!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
You can do it. You have the skill, education, and determination. That's all you need.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
When I got the chance to interview Ice Cube in person in Chicago!! So cool!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
So far, every pitch I got has been amazing. I’ve been learning more about people and companies I never knew about.
What's your favorite drink?
I love Ice Mountain Water. My favorite unhealthy drink is a grande Mocha Cookie Crumble from Starbucks.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I’d be somewhere filming with my Nikon. I love to write, film and edit my own productions. If it’s not that, I’m at SXU’s radio station.
