ROSEMEAD is an independent drama about a mother in a Chinese American neighborhood in Southern California who’s struggling with her teenage son’s schizophrenia. Following his father’s death, teenager Joe Chao (Lawrence Shou) becomes afflicted with schizophrenia. Joe’s mother, Irene (Lucy Liu), goes to therapy with him, but she hides a secret of her own – she’s terminally ill. Joe in turn hides from her the fact that his mental illness is getting worse.
