Tripartite ER-mitochondria-lipid droplets contact sites control adipocyte metabolic flexibility
Seipin deficiency alters MAM-LD contacts and abolishes the nutrient-driven organelle remodeling in vivo in mice We previously demonstrated that Seipin localizes at the MAM (Combot et al, 2022; Guyard et al, 2022), prompting us to investigate here whether Seipin deficiency affects MAMs in AT. We analyzed subcutaneous AT from inducible adipocyte-specific Seipin-knockout mice (iATSKO) 15 days after tamoxifen injection, resulting in a 70% reduction in Bscl2 mRNA levels (Fig. EV1A).
Mapping peatland plant communities dynamics using multispectral indices coupled with a joint species distribution model
Abstract Aims: Climate change is altering northern peatland plant communities, shifting from Sphagnum mosses to vascular plants. This transition impacts ecological functions like carbon sequestration, making long-term vegetation monitoring at the site scale more critical than ever. However, current monitoring methods tend to focus on specific species or functional groups with limited spatial coverage.
Mental health impact of a large-scale industrial fire on exposed residents in France: the post fire 76 health survey - Archives of Public Health
“Post Fire 76 Health, ‘A Study That Listens to Your Health’” is a cross-sectional epidemiological survey. It was conducted in the general population to assess the health impact of the Rouen industrial fire over the short and medium terms. Data on participants’ perceived exposure, symptoms experienced during the fire, and health-related quality of life one year after the fire, are described elsewhere [16,17,18].
Mental health impact of a large-scale industrial fire on exposed residents in France: the post fire 76 health survey - Archives of Public Health
Abstract Little is known about the mental health consequences of large-scale industrial fires without fatalities but with persistent odors for several months. One such fire occurred in 2019 in Rouen, France. This survey aimed to assess the impact of the fire on the mental health of the exposed population fifteen months later. A random representative stratified sample was selected from the exposed population in Rouen and a non-exposed population in a nearby city.

Physicists announce grapheneâs latest cousin: stanene
Nature | News Sharing First observation of 2D tin can't confirm whether material can conduct electricity without heat loss. Article tools Ref. 1 Physicists say they have produced stanene - a 2D layer of tin (Sn) atoms. It forms a honeycomb structure 'buckled' on top of a bismuth telluride support (centre: top view; right: side view). Microscope images pick out only the upper ridges of the sheet (left).
Graphene’s cousin silicene makes transistor debut
Seven years ago, silicene was little more than a theorist’s dream. Buoyed by a frenzy of interest in graphene — the famous material composed of a honeycomb of carbon just one atom thick — researchers speculated that silicon atoms might form similar sheets. And if they could be used to build electronic devices, these slivers of silicene could enable the semiconductor industry to achieve the ultimate in miniaturization.
