Paid or unpaid? Unpaid, magazine editor of my college magazine. Paid, freelance writer AND editorial assistant at a custom publisher.

Sure did!
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
I'm naturally curious, I love writing and I love answering questions through my writing.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use AHREFs for SEO, Click Up for keeping assignments organized, Depositphotos and Adobe Stock and of course Wordpress for blogging.
What's your favorite social network?
I'm not sure if Flipboard is a social media network, but have just fallen in love with Flipboard. I love making storyboards on Flipboard.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes. I was the editor in chief, because, of course I was. I'm such an underachiever {sarcasm}.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
When I was working on my book Suddenly Frugal, I would share money-saving advice that people told me really worked.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write, write and write some more. Can't stress how easy it is to start a blog.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Business days and hours, Eastern Time Zone.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
When I was writing for certain national magazines, I'd published something on topic A and someone who pitch me to say I should have written X
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee. Always coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I'm either on my Peloton bike or rower, or walking my dogs with my husband at the dog-friendly beaches in Southern Maine.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
NY Times and Washington Post.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I write a lot about Peloton, because I've had one since 2016. Most people think I work FOR Peloton. I don't. I just like helping people.
