What was your first job as a journalist?
My first adventures in column writing were for a parenting magazine.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
Journalists, at their best, are storytellers and documentarians.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Nothing fancy; whatever I have to hand at the time.
What's your favorite social network?
I have a love/hate relationship with Twitter.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
We didn't have such a thing, unfortunately. I often wrote poetry for my English teacher and she took pity on my limited access to creative outlets by reading and offering feedback.
What's your favorite drink?
Nothing beats that first coffee of the day
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
If I'm not working, I'm often outside with my family exploring the Scottish scenery.
