Revising Exciton Diffusion Lengths in Polymer Dot Photocatalysts
Revising Exciton Diffusion Lengths in Polymer Dot Photocatalysts Exciton migration in organic polymer dots (Pdots) is crucial for optimizing photocatalytic reactions at the particle surface, such as hydrogen evolution and carbon dioxide reduction. Despite the use of Pdots in photocatalysis, there is still a need for better understanding of exciton diffusion within these systems.

Directed ultrafast conformational changes accompany electron transfer in a photolyase as resolved by serial crystallography - Nature Chemistry
|
Abstract Charge-transfer reactions in proteins are important for life, such as in photolyases which repair DNA, but the role of structural dynamics remains unclear. Here, using femtosecond X-ray crystallography, we report the structural changes that take place while electrons transfer along a chain of four conserved tryptophans in the Drosophila melanogaster (6-4) photolyase.

Mums returning to work DO have a choice
By Leigh Hunt There is no more profound a career change than the transition from woman to mother. It's a life-changing event that's difficult to top. Motherhood impacts every facet of our lives, and for most of us ‘work hard, play hard' becomes a long and distant memory. If you're a mum, it's likely that the birth of your first child has caused you to reassess your career and to check how it aligns with your new role as a mother.
Full steam ahead on Coventry’s full fibre transformation as essential construction work continues
You don’t need me to tell you how much our lives have changed over the last couple of months. All of us in Coventry are doing our best in a world where terms like “social distancing” and “self-isolation” have become almost omnipresent. The way we have all adapted to this new normal has been phenomenal and the community spirit we’ve seen across the city has been nothing short of inspiring.
Realising Coventry’s digital ambitions with full fibre
Like traditional infrastructure, investment in digital – and in particular, in full fibre – drives the competitiveness, productivity and efficiency of those who use it. Residents, businesses and organisations across the country have long been demanding high speed connectivity, and new policy and legislative initiatives from central government are likely to lead to full fibre roll-outs gathering pace.

£130,000 and Counting
Thanks to your generosity, we have smashed our target for this year’s charity partner Beanstalk. Here's a round up of some of the activities we have been getting up to across the UK. This year we partnered with Coram Beanstalk to raise at least £100,000 to support the charities reading programmes and help ensure that no child is left behind because of poor literacy.
The Importance of Charity at Christmas
For 2019, we partnered with Coram Beanstalk, a national charity that provides literacy support to children. Last year, roughly 156,000 children left primary school unable to read to the expected level, and Coram Beanstalk’s 100 staff and 3,000 volunteers carry out work across England to try and correct this. To learn more about Coram Beanstalk and the importance of charity, we spoke with Coram Beanstalk’s Press and Marketing Officer, Kate Rumsby.

The Glove and the Lions by Leigh Hunt
King Francis was a hearty king, and loved a royal sport, And one day as his lions fought, sat looking on the court; The nobles filled the benches, and the ladies in their pride, And 'mongst them sat the Count de Lorge, with one for whom he sighed: And truly 'twas a gallant thing to see that crowning show, Valour and love, and a king above, and the royal beasts below.
Renting Provides Freedom and Flexibility
Alan, 74, lived on his own in Spain and made the move back to Oxfordshire to be closer to Eva, where he also began his clinical treatment. Eva comments: “The move was really stressful for Dad, and I was worried about him feeling vulnerable. We moved him into a serviced apartment to begin with but long-term we knew we needed something more secure where he could feel part of a community. Somewhere that would encourage him to get out and socialise but with support on hand should he ever need it.
Inspiring the Next Generation
