On March 2, 1985, Leilani Kai walked into Baltimore as the WWF Ladies Champion. She defended against the woman she won the belt from, Wendi Richter. Kai states – 40 years ago today, I defended the WWF Ladies Title vs Wendi Richter in Baltimore. Seeing the lineup, I knew I was part of something. I wrestled like my life depended on it. I studied every card & understood my role. That night, I was the champion and I wrestled like it.
