Which legendary Lotus is the better buy, 7 or Elan?
HalfDork 8/20/15 6:39 p.m. You could modify old cars with period correct parts as with Konis, better springs, fatter sway bars, wider wheels/tires, etc. but they're still no match against new technology at the limit. But so what - its way more fun to drive an older slower car fast than to drive a newer faster car slow. Most owners don't push their new high performance cars to the limit and I'll bet my brother's modified Lotus Europa can pull higher g's than most of them.
Can Triumph's overlooked TR250 outcharm the more favored TR6?
Story by David S. Wallens and Tim Suddard. Most all sports car enthusiasts know the Triumph TR6, the iconic sports car from the first half of the 1970s. It was a huge success on both the road and the track. Then there’s the TR4, the brand’s model that helped define the 1960s. The one-year-only TR250, however, tends to get lost in the shuffle. It marries the Michelotti-designed TR4 body with the six-cylinder engine that makes the TR6 such a brute.

Not that I would kick a vintage Healy out of the garage, or a nice air cooled 911 for that matter. SuperDork 10/3/16 3:19 p.m. I would say spotting the next big thing is THE mandate for a mag that appeals to a readership buying cars at or near the bottom of their depreciation cycle.

The Put-In-Bay Road Races step back in time and bring vintage motorsports to life. They proclaim their weekend to provide “more guaranteed fun than any other vintage racing event,” with car shows, tours, social events and, of course, the racing. Best of all: They already have a record number of registrations for this year’s festivities. We’ll be there, too.
The Best Mitty Ever
PowerDork 4/25/16 11:26 a.m. There were so many cool cars parked around the track this weekend that never made it into the car corrals... Five Porsche 356's were parked at the camp site behind us. Nearby was a couple with a 550 Spyder. Toby Bean had his vintage Ferrari Mondial Spyder at his tent. The guys camped next to us had a concours worthy Shelby 350GT and Camaro SS. In the paddock were pair of late model Ferrari Italias, a McLaren 570S and a Ford GT.
Enjoy Vintage Race Cars at Sebring
Anyone with a cool vintage car is welcome to join in the fun and show their car The weekend also showcases track antics as well. SVRA and Trans Am Race Series cars will be contesting for track position. It may still be cold and white farther north, but here in Florida it’s prime car show weather. SVRA and Heacock Classics are taking advantage and hosting one of their most interesting car shows of the year this weekend at Sebring International Raceway.
