Our Neighborhood Heroes
Three cheers for the Great Neck Park District and Great Neck Library for their fantastic programs. I had the opportunity to attend three movies, Maudie, The Big Sick and Stronger, offered by the Library and Park District, and was most impressed by them. All of these films are based on real stories and real people. A good movie is one that entertains and possibly educates, that has a story to tell and tells it well. A great movie is one that changes the way you see the world.
Was This Santa Claus?
I looked out the window one night recently and saw the neighborhood bathed in an eerie blue light. Was this Santa Claus? The Aurora Borealis? A UFO? No. It is the new LED streetlight. Hanging menacingly high above the street, a black claw reaches out and emits a supernatural light that makes you think you live in Alaska, the land of the midnight sun. It’s too bright. And, it’s ugly. The black claw hangs like the Sword of Damocles over the innocent citizens of Great Neck.

My Arizona voting disaster: Four-hour lines, no ballots and overflowing toilets
When I pulled up to the church parking lot to vote, I could not believe the extraordinarily long line snaking in and out and around the Church of the Beatitudes, my usual polling place. It was 3:20 p.m. and I had just picked up my 31/2 year old daughter from pre-school. I also had my 12-week old baby with me. I’ve always voted in person. It’s something that my own mother had instilled in me from a very young age.
Introducing AutoCAD 2017 | Autodesk | Announcement
AutoCAD 2017 bugs ======================================================= 1. Grip colors > Grip contour color. This setting should be available for all grips. Now, it’s not working for triangular grips (on mtext, table …). Conclusion: Grip contour color should be working also for triangular grips. ——————————————————- 2. Insert a block. BEDIT the block > the window has the correct preview area size (like it is on Open file dialog). REFEDIT the block > the window has a very small preview area size (!?!).
