What was your first job as a journalist?
Not super official, but I was on my high school's newspaper staff as a writer and an editor. I covered entertainment pieces primarily.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Not yet, but hopefully soon!
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Hmm.. Going with Lindsay Lohan as Lexy Gold in the Disney movie "Get A Clue" on this one.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Over email, with paragraphs :)
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google Drive, primarily. Also, Spotify and other music/social networks for research.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram or Twitter!
Who do you wish followed you?
Artist wise, either Halsey or St. Vincent. I'm also very inspired by a few female music writers from the NYC scene in the 2000s too.
Why did you become a journalist?
I always loved to write! After discovering journalism officially in eighth grade though, it allowed me to combine all my interests in one.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
So far, my favorite one was getting to interview The Frights for Atwood Magazine! I love the band, so I love the piece a lot as well.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I'm open to any time! However, if I'm pitched late at night in my time zone, I probably won't answer until the next morning.
What's your favorite drink?
A good Shirley Temple. Hands down. I love cherries.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At a live show in NYC!
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Rolling Stone, SPIN, Variety, Stereogum, NYLON, AltPress, and the list can go on and on and on...
