Case Report: rectal perforation and Fournier's gangrene after irinotecan in a bevacizumab-exposed, previously irradiated patient
Abstract Bevacizumab-associated intestinal perforation and Fournier’s gangrene have been reported separately; however, the potential contribution of residual anti-VEGF exposure prior to subsequent chemotherapy in previously irradiated pelvic tissue remains underrecognized. Radiotherapy causes fibrosis and microvascular injury, bevacizumab impairs healing, and irinotecan-induced diarrhea may exacerbate perforation risk.
Physically constrained machine learning improves radiation, clouds, and albedo forecasts globally
Abstract Clouds, radiation, and surface albedo are essential to Earth’s energy balance and have a significant impact on applications such as solar energy, yet they remain challenging to represent accurately in global forecast systems. Recent machine learning-based weather forecasting models have matched or outperformed conventional numerical models for large-scale dynamical variables, but most do not explicitly predict clouds, radiation, or albedo, limiting their physical fidelity.
A deep learning global ocean forecasting model with sub-daily and eddy-resolving resolution
Abstract Accurate and physically realistic ocean forecasting at high spatial and temporal resolution is essential for resolving fine-scale dynamical features, with profound implications for hazard prediction, maritime navigation, and sustainable ocean management. Conventional numerical models can produce sub-daily, eddy-resolving forecasts but require substantial computational resources and often struggle to maintain predictive skill at such fine scales.

Cross-national comparative assessment of synergies and conflicts in climate policy mixes
Abstract Carbon pricing is one of the most effective climate mitigation instruments, yet how it interacts with other climate policies and shapes their effectiveness remains unclear. Integrating the most comprehensive climate policy datasets covering more than 10,000 climate policies over 100 countries, this paper quantifies such policy interaction effects.
Policy interactions reshape the outcomes of carbon pricing policies
The adoption and effectiveness of carbon pricing are highly reshaped by interactions with other climate mitigation policies. A global comparative assessment of policy synergies and conflicts can guide policymakers in designing policy portfolios that can achieve higher mitigation cost-effectiveness.
A data-to-forecast machine learning system for global weather - Nature Communications
Abstract Weather forecasting traditionally relies on numerical weather prediction (NWP) systems that integrate global observations, data assimilation (DA), and physics-based models. However, further advances are increasingly constrained by high computational costs, the underutilization of vast observational datasets, and challenges in obtaining finer resolution. Recent advances in machine learning present a promising alternative, but still depend on the initial conditions generated by NWP systems.
Photothermal-promoted anion exchange membrane seawater electrolysis on a nickel-molybdenum-based catalyst - Nature Communications
Abstract Exploring active, durable catalysts and utilizing external renewable energy sources offer notable opportunities for advancing seawater electrolysis. Here, a multifunctional NiMo-based catalyst (NiMo-H2) composed of bimetallic Ni0.91Mo0.09 nanoparticles on MoO2 nanorods is demonstrated for the alkaline seawater hydrogen evolution reaction.

A machine learning model that outperforms conventional global subseasonal forecast models - Nature Communications
Abstract Skillful subseasonal forecasts are crucial for various sectors of society but pose a grand scientific challenge. Recently, machine learning-based weather forecasting models outperform the most successful numerical weather predictions generated by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), but have not yet surpassed conventional models at subseasonal timescales.
Harmonizing existing climate change mitigation policy datasets with a hybrid machine learning approach - Scientific Data
Abstract With the rapid proliferation of climate policies in both number and scope, there is an increasing demand for a global-level dataset that provides multi-indicator information on policy elements and their implementation contexts. To address this need, we developed the Global Climate Change Mitigation Policy Dataset (GCCMPD) using a semisupervised hybrid machine learning approach, drawing upon policy information from global, regional, and sector-specific sources.

Deformations presents the maximum monitoring values of two sections, while illustrates the temporal developments of deformations over a two-year monitoring period. The results obtained from and indicate that the frost heave and settlements in the subgrade of the test sections remained relatively constant throughout two natural freeze–thaw cycles.

Air pollution reduction and climate co-benefits in China’s industries
Abstract Air pollution reduction policies can simultaneously mitigate CO2 emissions in the industrial sector, but the extent of these co-benefits is understudied. We analyse the potential co-benefits for SO2, NOx, particulate matter (PM) and CO2 emission reduction in major industrial sectors in China. We construct and analyse a firm-level database covering nearly 80 observations and use scenario simulations to estimate the co-benefits.
