Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet approved a bill by a vote of 14-7 that would reserve national rights for Jews, relegating the country’s Muslims and Christians to second-class citizenship. If the bill passes the Knesset, Israel’s legislature, Arabic will be delisted as a second national language, and Jewish religious law will be the official basis for legislation.
