Lindsey Mastis

Lindsey Mastis is a four-time Emmy Award-winning journalist covering artificial intelligence and emerging technology. She became the first local news anchor in the United States to specialize in artificial intelligence reporting.

Over a 20-year career in broadcast news, she has reported on major national stories including the Boston Marathon bombing, traveling nationwide to cover breaking news on the ground. Internationally, she produced a mini-documentary on child survival in India through the International Reporting Project, covered medical tourism in Mexico, and taught journalism in Iraq’s Kurdish region.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she created and hosted the daily livestream “The Coronavirus Alert Desk,” connecting viewers with doctors and public health experts. The program received more than 23 million views.

Her recent work focuses on the real-world impact of artificial intelligence. Her mini-documentary, "Is AI Ruining Music?" was featured on BBC Radio, and she is hosting the film festival at the United Nations’ AI for Good Summit in Geneva.

Mastis has also hosted a health series on WTOP radio and reported for ABC and CBS affiliates in Washington, D.C. She previously served as bureau chief for Feature Story News in Los Angeles, a breaking news anchor in Tampa, and a morning show anchor in Southern Illinois.

She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, celebrates her Greek heritage, and is an Elton John superfan.
