Introduction Sepsis is a life-threatening acute organ dysfunction syndrome resulting from the host’s dysfunctional response to infection.1 In the pathogenesis of sepsis, systemic inflammatory cascades upregulate tissue factor expression, triggering coagulation system activation while suppressing both anticoagulant mechanisms and fibrinolytic pathways. This coordinated dysregulation promotes platelet hyperreactivity and facilitates fibrin-rich thrombogenesis.
Abstract and Introduction Abstract Background: Postoperative hypoxemia is quite common in patients with acute aortic dissection (AAD) and is associated with poor clinical outcomes. However, there is no method to predict this potentially life-threatening complication. The study aimed to develop a regression model in patients with AAD to predict postoperative hypoxemia, and to validate it in an independent dataset.
