Early Emergence of Cultural Differences in Audiovisual Speech Perception
1 Introduction Human speech perception is inherently multimodal: listeners routinely integrate auditory input with visual cues from a speaker's mouth movements. The McGurk effect illustrates this process. When a viewer sees a speaker articulating one syllable (e.g., /ga/) while hearing a different one (e.g., /ba/), they often perceive a third, fused syllable (e.g., /da/, McGurk and MacDonald 1976).
Engineered genomic attachment sites for site-specific recombinases enable high-efficiency integration in plants and human cells
Abstract Here we developed a DNA-centric strategy for optimizing site-specific recombination by rationally engineering chimeric attachment sites. The high-activity att variants enhance Bxb1-mediated integration efficiency in human cells and plants. Among these att variants, the engineered attB(V111) site achieved 51.9% integration efficiency in HEK293T cells (1.7-fold versus wild-type attB) and 35.6% in rice protoplasts (4.4-fold versus wild-type attB).

Engineering In Situ Catalytic Cleaning Membrane Via Prebiotic‐Chemistry‐Inspired Mineralization
1 Introduction Pressure-driven membrane processes play increasingly critical roles in low-carbon wastewater treatment and water purification,[1] and they profoundly tie into the sustainable development of human society.[2] Membrane fouling, induced by contaminant adsorption at the membrane/aqueous solution interface, restricts the efficacious and lasting operation of membrane modules and equipment.[3] Thus, membrane antifouling strategies have been the subject of intense research.

New Biological and Chemical Insights into Optimization of Chamomile Extracts by Using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Model
1. Introduction Chamomile (Chamomilla recutita L.) is an annual plant whose medicinal properties have been known to almost all civilizations of the world for centuries, and some ancient civilizations considered it as a sacred plant. Besides its healing properties, its mild effect on the body without toxicity is of paramount importance when it comes to using it as a tea and/or as a medicine for babies and adults [1].
Blunted reward responsiveness prospectively predicts emotional distress when exposed to a naturalistic stressor
Abstract Both stress and blunted reward responsiveness have been identified as core risk factors of depression. Whether blunted reward responsiveness increases psychological vulnerability to real-life stress from a dynamic perspective (from stress reactivity to recovery) has not been investigated.
