Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

I worked at my community college's newspaper, covering Features and campus updates.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Maybe once! I always wanted to collect them as cool vintage decorations.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I'm a big fan of Google Docs so I can take my work anywhere. Other than that, I mostly post in WordPress.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I love telling the stories of lesser-known folks in the Overwatch League, like coaches and general managers.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Honestly, any time except early morning. I'm on gamer hours.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Someone sent me a pitch about owls. I cover the Overwatch League (OWL). Close but no cigar.

What's your favorite drink?

Iced coffee with coconut milk!

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That esports is only for nerds and men. Esports is for everyone and new viewers can jump on in!
