Through her charitable acts, Lois Pope has touched countless lives around the world. Through the Lois Pope Life Foundation, Inc., Leaders in Furthering Education (LIFE), and the Disabled Veteransâ Life Memorial Foundation, she has reached out to people in need across the country and around the world.
Through the Lois Pope Life Foundation, Lois Pope supported the Florida Center for Environmental Studies at Florida Atlantic University by donating $100,000 to create a clean-water system in a village in Guatemala called El Triunfo. The Lois Pope Life Foundation has also supported Israelâs Red Cross, Magen David Adom, and donated five ambulances to the organization. In 2006, the foundation donated $250,000 to fund the purchase and retrofit of the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Lois Pope Pet Mobile, which has increased pet adoption for the Rescue throughout Palm Beach County, Florida. In addition, The Cedars of Marin, a home for developmentally disabled adults, benefited from the generous donations of Lois Pope. Through her work with LIFE, Lois Pope enabled over 14,500 children from disadvantaged backgrounds to enjoy a summer away at camp.
Lois Pope has always held a special place in her heart for those who have served this country. To that end, her Disabled Veteransâ Life Memorial Foundation has arranged for the construction of a Washington, DC memorial to be built to honor those soldiers who have become disabled while fighting to defend the United States. On Veterans Day 2012, the dedication ceremony for the memorial will take place.
